WTF HEADLINES FOR THE WEEK OF APRIL 24

SWINE FLU PANDEMIC THREATENS U.S.

POLITICALLY CORRECT POLS OVERLOOK THE OBVIOUS

Is it possible epidemic terrorist plot?

Mexico City is virtually a ghost town as the central government has essentially shut down the largest city in the Western Hemisphere due to a virulent outbreak of swine flue.

The difficulty of pinning this virus down comes from the discovery that it is a mutation of three or more different flu strains, swine, avian and human. Such a mutation is a new wrinkle for the CDC and WHO who seek to contain the disease as quickly as possible.

Already the disease has spread from Mexico City to southern United States and as far away as Canada by returning tourists.

Conspiracy theorists are already jumping on this as a terrorist plot, reasoning that such a complicated mutation of disparite virus strains is not possible in nature.

S.F. MAYOR TO TOSS HAT IN GOV RING

COUNTING ON LEFTIE-LIBS FOR LANDSLIDE

Liberal San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom announced he will make a run at the Governor's office next year, hoping to replace Arnold Schwarzenegger's brand of centrist politics with his own hard Left leanings.  He feels he has the support of the majority of California voters who traditionally vote Democratic and liberal in most elections.

His biggest hurdle, aside from a possible challenger from the Los Angeles basin, will be the overwhelming budget problems that is currently plaguing the current state government. Newsom is banking on the budget being under control, or at least off the headlines, in time for him to begin the liberal facelift of the state. Using environmental and social issues at his calling card, Newsom plans to positition himself well in front of liberal issues.
